Who We Serve

All guests we serve are economically disadvantaged, and many are homeless or formerly homeless. Some struggle with addiction, live with consequences of traumatic brain injury, or suffer with a mental illness.

In Minnesota, it’s estimated that 15,000 – 20,000 unsheltered people experience homelessness at any given night.

40,000 – 50,000 people experience it annually, according to Wilder Research’s 2018 Minnesota Homeless Study.

Since 2015, Wilder reports a 62 percent increase in the number of people outside the shelter system sleeping in a car, on transit or in encampments.

Listening House serves proportionately more BIPOC men and women than are represented in St. Paul’s demographics.
